Alexander Groh
Alexander Groh's lab at the Medical Faculty of the University of Heidelberg investigates how cortical and subcortical networks interact to shape cognitive processes such as sensori-motor transformations, perceptual salience, and pathological pain. They use a combination of in vivo deep-brain electrophysiology, targeted genetic circuit manipulations, and behavioral experiments in the mouse model to uncover the underlying mechanisms.
The overarching goal of the lab is to understand how these brain-wide interactions support healthy cognition and how their disruption contributes to brai disorders.
